GigAlert Privacy Policy

Overview

GigAlert is a driving safety and accessibility tool that monitors gig delivery app offers and alerts you when orders meet your thresholds. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data GigAlert accesses and how it is handled.

Accessibility Service

GigAlert uses Android's Accessibility Service to read on-screen text from supported gig delivery apps (DoorDash Driver, Uber Eats Driver, Grubhub for Drivers). This is the primary method for detecting delivery offers.

• Text is processed entirely on your device.
• No screen content is recorded, stored, or transmitted.
• The service only monitors the specific gig delivery app packages listed above.

Screen Capture (Fallback)

If the Accessibility Service is not enabled, GigAlert can use Android's MediaProjection API as a fallback to capture screen frames for on-device text recognition.

• Frames are processed locally using ML Kit text recognition and immediately discarded.
• No images or screenshots are saved, stored, or transmitted.
• Explicit user consent is required each session before capture begins.

Notification Monitoring

GigAlert reads notification text from supported gig delivery apps to supplement offer detection.

• Only notifications from the specific gig app packages are read.
• Notification content is processed on-device and not stored or transmitted.

Data Collection

GigAlert does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Specifically:

• No account or login is required.
• No personal information is collected.
• No usage analytics or tracking are implemented by GigAlert.
• All text processing (OCR, pattern matching) happens entirely on your device.
• Your settings (dollar threshold, mileage threshold, sound preferences) are stored locally on your device only.

Advertising

GigAlert displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google's advertising SDK may collect certain data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. This may include:

• Advertising identifiers
• Device information
• IP address

You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's settings. Premium users who purchase the in-app upgrade will not see any ads.

In-App Purchases

GigAlert offers a premium upgrade through Google Play Billing. All payment processing is handled by Google Play. GigAlert does not collect or have access to any payment information.

Children's Privacy

GigAlert is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
